【摘要】:1.1Thisspecificationcoverslow-alloysteelsandmartensiticstainlesssteelsinthenormalizedandtempered,orquenchedandtempered,conditionsuitableforpressure-containingparts.Theweldabilityoftheclassesinthisspecificationvariesfromreadilyweldabletoweldableonlywithadequateprecautions,andtheweldabilityofeachclassshouldbeconsideredpriortoassemblybyfusionwelding.1.2Selectionwilldependondesign,mechanical,andserviceconditions.Usersshouldnotethathardenabilityofsomeofthegradesmentionedmayrestrictthemaximumsizeatwhichtherequiredmechanicalpropertiesareobtained.1.3Thevaluesstatedineitherinch-poundunitsorSIunitsaretoberegardedseparatelyasstandard.Withinthetext,theSIunitsareshowninbrackets.Thevaluesstatedineachsystemarenotexactequivalents;therefore,eachsystemmustbeusedindependentlyoftheother.Combiningvaluesfromthetwosystemsmayresultinnonconformancewiththespecification.Inch-poundunitsareapplicableformaterialorderedtoSpecificationA487andSIunitsformaterialorderedtoSpecificationA487M.
