【摘要】:Granularrefractorymaterialsmaybeeitherrefractorygrainrawmaterialsthatareusedinthemanufactureoffinishedrefractoryproducts,orbulkgranularrefractorymaterialsthataresold,withorwithoutsomedegreeofprocessing,torefractoryconsumersforvarioususes.Ineithercase,characterizingthepropertiesofagranularrefractorymaterialisessentialinevaluatingitsqualityorconsistencyofqualityandindeterminingsuitabilityforenduse.Oneoftheimportantpropertiesisbulkdensitybecauseofitsrelationshiptoendproductquality,usage,andperformance.Therefractoriesproducercanusethistestmethodasoneofthequality-controltestsforhismanufacturedorminedrefractorygrainrawmaterialsorforevaluatingpotentialrefractorygrainrawmaterials.Fortherefractoriesconsumer,theprincipaluseofthistestmethodisintheevaluationofthequalityortheconsistencyofqualityofthegranularmaterialinpurchasedrefractorymixesorinbulkgranularrefractorymaterialsusedbytheconsumer.Thisisaprimarytestmethod,andthusissuitableforuseinspecifications,qualitycontrol,andresearchanddevelopment.Itcanalsoserveasarefereetestmethodinpurchasingcontractsoragreementsandasabasefordevelopmentofmorerapid,secondarytestmethodsforuseinqualitycontrolonmanufacturedrefractoryrawmaterials.Fundamentalassumptionsinherentinthistestmethodarethatthesampleisrepresentativeofthematerialingeneral,theparticlesizeofthesampleiswithintherangespecifiedbythetestmethod,thematerialisnotreadilyhydratable,andthesizeandquantityofporesinthematerialpermitsremovalofsurfacewaterwithoutdrainagefromtheporesthemselves.Deviationfromanyoftheseassumptionsnegatestheusefulnessofthetestresults.Ininterpretingtheresultsofthistestmethod,itmustberecognizedthatthespecificgravityofthematerialaswellastheporosityaffectsthevalueobtainedforbulkdensity.Thus,comparisonsofresultsshouldonlybemadebetweenlikematerialsorwithfullrecognitionofinherentdifferencesbetweenthematerialsbeingcompared.1.1Thistestmethodcoversaprocedurefordeterminingthebulkdensityofgranularrefractorymaterials,commercialproductswhichusuallyhaveparticlesthatareretainedona0.265-in.(6.7-mm)orcoarsersieve.Note18212;Thistestmethodisnotsuitableformaterialsthathydrateinboilingwater.1.2Units8212;Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.2.1Exceptions8212;InSections4,7,and8,theapparatususedisonlyavailableinSIunits.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.

【摘要】:Thistestmethodisnecessarybecauseoftheneedforrapidreliabletestsforcarbonaceousmaterialinwatersandsediments.Itisusedfordeterminingtheconcentrationoforganiccarboninwaterthatcomesfromavarietyofnatural,domestic,andindustrialsources.Typically,thesemeasurementsareusedtomonitororganicpollutantsindomesticandindustrialwastewater.Whenasampleishomogenizedsothatparticulate,immisciblephases,anddissolvedcarbonfrombothorganicandinorganicsourcesisdetermined,themeasurementiscalledtotalcarbon(TC).WheninorganiccarbonresponseiseliminatedbyremovingthedissolvedCO2priortotheanalysisorthedissolvedCO2concentrationsubtractedfromthetotalcarbonconcentration,themeasurementiscalledtotalorganiccarbon(TOC).Whenparticulatesandimmisciblephasesareremovedpriortoanalysisthemeasurementiscalleddissolvedcarbon(DC),ordissolvedorganiccarbon(DOC)ifinorganiccarbonresponsehasbeeneliminated.Homogenizingorspargingofasample,orboth,maycauselossofvolatileorganics,thusyieldinganegativeerror.Theextentandsignificanceofsuchlossesmustbeevaluatedonanindividualbasis.Ifsignificantquantitiesofvolatilecarbonaceousmaterialsarepresentormaybepresentinsamplesorganiccarbonshouldbedeterminedbythedifferencebetweenthetotalcarbonandtheinorganiccarbonconcentrations.Whenorganiccarbondeterminedbothbydifferenceandbyspargingagreeitisacceptabletodetermineorganiccarbonbyspargingforsimilarsamples.TherelationshipofTOCtootherwaterqualityparameterssuchasCODandBODisdescribedintheliterature.51.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationoftotalandorganiccarboninwaterandwastewater,includingbrackishwatersandbrinesintherangefrom2to20000mg/L.Thistestmethodhastheadvantagesofawiderangeofconcentrationwhichmaybedeterminedwithoutsampledilutionandtheprovisionforboatorcapillaryintroductionofsamplescontainingsedimentsandparticulatematterwheresyringeinjectionisinappropriate.1.2Thisprocedureisapplicableonlytothatcarbonaceousmatterinthesamplethatcanbeintroducedintothereactionzone.Whensyringeinjectionisusedtointroducesamplesintothecombustionzone,thesyringeneedleopeningsizelimitsthemaximumsizeofparticlesthatcanbepresentinsamples.Sludgeandsedimentsamplesmustbehomogenizedpriortosamplingwithamicropipetororotherappropriatesamplerandladleintroductionintothecombustionzoneisrequired.1.3Theprecisionandbiasinformationreportedinthistestmethodwasobtainedincollaborativetestingthatincludedwatersofthefollowingtypes:distilled,deionized,potable,natural,brine,municipalandindustrialwaste,andwaterderivedfromoilshaleretorting.Sincetheprecisionandbiasinformationreportedmaynotapplytowatersofallmatrices,itistheuser''sresponsibilitytoensurethevalidityofthistestmethodonsamplesofothermatrices.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,seeand.
