【摘要】:Thisguideisapplicabletosamplescontaining2to10%gadoliniumoxideand90to98%uraniumoxideonthex201C;asreceivedx201D;basis.Themethodmaybeusedtodetermineconcentrationofeitheruranium,gadolinium,orboth.Eitherwavelength-dispersiveorenergy-dispersivex-rayfluorescencesystemsmaybeusedprovidedthesoftwareaccompanyingthesystemisabletoaccommodatetheuseofinternalstandards.1.1ThisstandarddescribesthestepsnecessaryforthepreparationandanalysisbyX-rayfluorescence(XRF)ofgadoliniumand/oruraniumingadoliniumoxide-uraniumoxidepelletsorpowders.1.2Thismethodrequirestheuseofappropriateinternalstandard(s).Caremustbetakentoascertainthatsamplesanalyzedbythismethoddonotcontaintheinternalstandardelement(s)orthatthiscontaminationhasbeencorrectedformathematicallywheneverpresent.Suchcorrectionsarenotaddressedinthisstandard.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.SpecificprecautionsaregiveninSectionandvariousnotesthroughoutthemethod.
